| Well, here we will populate our
Miniature
events. We have a healthy Miniature community, with many games
designed by our members. What we really need at this time is for you to
submit to run your game to help make this con a
great success, it all comes down to you. We will have a process of
signing up for games in the near future, so just show a bit of patience.
Oh yeah don't forget to fill out the event
submission form so we can all enjoy your favorite
game
Our Director, David Durocher, has a message for
you all:
Mark the dates and plan your games! Michicon is back at Oakland University
and we are calling for miniatures events to fill our gaming slots. We
accept historical as well as SciFi and Fantasy miniatures games, so send in
your event proposal as soon as you can. The good time slots fill up
quickly, so act now!
Here is the link for Michicon:

Location: Oakland Center, Oakland University, Rochester Hills, Michigan
(Thanks to the Oakland Gaming Guild for partnering with us for this event!)
Time Slots: I will be VERY flexible with the start/end times, but I would
roughly like the convention to have 3 time slots starting at 9AM, ~2PM and~
7PM. I plan on having 7-8 games maximum per slot going. Each game station
will consist of 3 tables each with a total gaming area of 7.5 feet by 8
feet for each game. We will also have as a floor area for a largish naval
miniatures game. Let me know if you need more or less tables and/or space.
I am looking for any type of miniatures game you want to run. This
convention is primarily for fun, but it also is a place for you to show off
your minis and terrain and run your battles the way YOU want them to be
run! My only request is that you have a minimum of 4 players planned for
your event and, unless you arrange a longer time slot than mentioned above,
you try to finish and clean up at least a half hour before the next event
is to start. Also, let me know if you have any participant requirements
(i.e. no kids, experience preferred, electrical outlet required, etc...).
If you are available and have a game that you want to run, please contact
me ASAP so I can schedule your game:
Dave Durocher
I would like your response, positive or negative, by May 1 and all details
below into me no later than May8.
If you cannot run a game, please forward this message to any of your gaming
friends that may wish to help us fill out the schedule.
I will need the following for each event (attached below if you want to
send a complete file):
Game Name:
Brief (2-3 sentence) Event Description:
# Players:
Rules:
Time slots desired:
Any special needs?
(See attached file: MDG Miniatures Event Proposal.doc)
Thanks, and I hope to see you soon! If you cannot run a game, come on out
and join us as a player. Also, as usual, you can run your game and play in
others in the sessions you are off!
Again, our website is: http://metrodetroitgamers.com/
Check this for updates as the convention date nears.
Sincerely,
Dave Durocher (Miniatures Coordinator, MDG)
