Pinnacle began in 1994 with Fields of Honor (a historical miniatures game) and The Last Crusade (a collectible World War 2 card game designed by John R. Hopler).

The roleplaying game can be found in its original "classic" edition, in the d20 system, and "Reloaded" for our current house system, Savage Worlds. It has also been translated into Steve Jackson Games' popular GURPs system.

They weren't successful until they published the first edition of Twilight Imperium and have since grown to be the 5th largest publisher of boardgames in the world. Important New Policy Concerning Prizes from games!

Because MDG has been getting fewer prize donations recently, we have decided to change the prize policy so that our prize collection remains active for as long as possible. Everyone attending the convention will get a door prize ticket; raffle tickets can also be purchased for our "bigger ticket" prizes, and we will have the usual drawings for these prizes. As for prizes for events, we are going to be switching to a system where the entrants and/or winners of events will receive a ticket. These tickets will be used for drawings during the convention and the winning ticket holders can get prizes. The drawings for these prizes will be more often and for more tickets than the usual drawings we have had during previous conventions. We have decided to do this to preserve our prize collection for as long as possible, and to allow players to play and enjoy the events as opposed to playing solely to try to win a prize.

Warhorn Sign up page set.

The Warhorn site is up and running.  All the events on up, be sure to read the descriptions as some games run longer than the time slot allotted them.  Also note, there will be at con sign up for games as well, this is just a way for you to "preregister" for games.  With the system we have, you are manually placed on the sign in sheet, as long as you have  told us you are present to the con.

MichiCon Dates are Set!!!

We are excited to announce May 1st & 2nd 2009 are the dates for this year's MichiCon.  We have decided to hold it at Oakland University (the site of last years WinterCon), and we hope to fill up the rooms with love & gaming.  Okay, really just gaming, get your love somewhere else.

What we need right now, is some commitments form people to run some games for the Convention.  There are sign ups on the respective pages that are working, so get to it!

We will be setting up a Warhorn.net site, called Michicon.. go figure.  You can sign up for games there, once there are games to sign up for.  We are still finalizing some of our games so that is why not all of them are on the site yet.

The hours are 2pm-11pm on Friday May 1st & 8am-11pm on Saturday May 2nd.

We will be at the Oakland Center on the Campus of Oakland University. See map.

The pricing is as follows:

What to Expect..

  1. Miniatures:  Our Miniatures Games run the gambit from historical to sci-fi, not to mention the fantastical.  To see what we ran to WinterCon (to get an Idea of what we run) go to the Miniatures page.  Sign up to run your miniature game, even if the only one who knows the rules is you.  Chances are you can find someone who wants to learn it.

  2. Board Games: We run standards like Settlers of Catan, Carcassonne, Munchkin, Puerto Rico and more.  Plus we are sure to run some games you have never played before.  Beyond that we also run tournaments in some of your favorite games.  Sign up to run your favorite, so that others can enjoy it with you.

  3. Role-Playing Games: Our Director, John Jamieson, has begun a campaign to revitalize the role-playing segment of MDG.  So he is asking for your help to make this year's MichiCon a great success by signing up to GM some games.  And of course, once the games are set, you can help by signing up to play.

  4. Card Games: We still need someone to organize the Card Games portion.  We know that there are Magic: the Gathering Players out there, not to mention the Legend of the Five Rings Players, and Lord of the Rings, Yu-gi-oh!, and others.  So, who out there is willing to step up and be the Card Game Director?  Perhaps you!
